After months of community input (including many of your comments—thank you!), the City Planning Commission is preparing to vote on the “Let’s Build More Housing, Detroit” ordinance. This measure would loosen parking mandates and make it easier to build more infill housing. While it wouldn’t eliminate all parking mandates, it’s a meaningful step in the right direction.
CPC will take the matter up at their next meeting on Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 p.m. in the Committee of the Whole Room at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. Consider joining in person or via Zoom – see CPC meeting info for details) to lend your voice to enacting parking reform measures. If you can’t make the meeting, you can e-mail your support to [email protected]
Thank you for lending your voice and energy to this effort.
